FAQs
Can I start a numbered list at something other than 1?
You may want to have a numbered list that starts a number other than 1.
For example, you may enter notes like this:
5. Fifth bullet 6. Sixth bullet 7. Seventh bullet
However, Markdown will automatically start the list at 1 when it's displayed in Preceden:
- Fifth bullet
- Sixth bullet
- Seventh bullet
What you should do is place a backslash before each period which will cause Markdown to not automatically interpret it as a list:
5\. Fifth bullet 6\. Sixth bullet 7\. Seventh bullet
Markdown will then correctly show it with numbers 5-7.
